Anyone can pick a winner. Fight Week Picks pays you for how precisely you called it. Get the winner and you score. Call the finish and you score more. Nail the round as well and you take the lot.
The three tiers
Every fight on the card is scored the same way. You pick a corner, then optionally how the fight ends, then the round.
You picked the right fighter. Nothing else needed. This is the floor, and it means you can play a whole card in under a minute.
Right fighter, right finish. KO/TKO, submission or decision. Doubling your score for one extra call.
Right fighter, right method, right round. On a decision, the round is replaced by the decision type.
Why decisions work differently
A fight that goes the distance always ends in the final round, so picking round three on a three-round decision would be free points. Instead, decisions ask for the type: unanimous, split or majority. Calling a split decision is every bit as hard as calling a second-round knockout, so it pays the same.
Main card fights are worth more
Prelim fighters are unknown even to serious fans, and nobody should win a card on coin flips. Every main card fight carries a 1.5x multiplier on the base score.

The underdog bonus
MMA favourites lose constantly. If you back a fighter almost nobody else picked and they win, you get paid for the nerve. The bonus is worked out from what everyone playing actually picked, not from bookmakers’ odds.

The bonus is added after the main card multiplier, and it only applies once at least five people have picked that fight. It means nobody runs away with a card, and someone who joined last week is still live.
A worked example
Say the main event goes the distance and an underdog wins a scrappy prelim.
Locking and cancellations
- Picks lock when the first fight of the card begins. Nothing can be changed after that, including fights later on the card.
- You can change any pick as many times as you like before the lock.
- You do not have to pick every fight. Skipping one scores zero rather than costing you.
- If a bout is cancelled or postponed, it is voided. Nobody scores and nobody is penalised.
- If a fighter is replaced after you have picked, the bout is voided and rescored around it.
- Draws and no contests are voided the same way.
Leaderboards
MMA has no season, so there is no August reset to level things up. Instead there are three tables running at once, and you are always in contention on at least one.

Leagues with your mates
Create a league, get a six character code, send it to the group chat. Everyone who joins appears in your private table alongside the main leaderboards.
Leagues score on total points or average per member. Average is worth choosing if your group is small, because it stops a forty-person league beating a four-person one on volume alone.

Common questions
Do I have to pick the method and round?
No. Picking a winner alone scores two points, and you can fill a whole card that way in about a minute. Method and round are there for when you want to back your read and score three times as much.
What happens if a fight is cancelled after I pick it?
It is voided. You score nothing for it, but it does not count against you and the maximum available on that card drops accordingly. Fights cancelled at the weigh-in or on the night are handled the same way.
Can I change my picks?
Yes, as many times as you like right up until the first fight of the card starts. After that the whole card is locked, including bouts that have not happened yet.
Why is the round only worth points on finishes?
A fight that goes to the judges always ends in its final round, so picking the round on a decision would be a free score. Decisions ask for the type instead, which is a genuine read on how the fight goes.
How is the underdog bonus calculated?
From what everyone playing actually picked, not from bookmakers’ odds. If a fighter is backed by fewer than 35% of players and wins, everyone who picked them gets a bonus, rising as that share drops. It needs at least five picks on the fight to apply.
Is there a maximum score on a card?
It depends on how many main card fights there are. A typical eleven fight card with five main card bouts caps at around 81 points before underdog bonuses, which can push it higher.
